The Basics of Triangulation Sensors
نویسنده
چکیده
riangulation sensors fall into the general category of noncontact height or range measurement devices. A triangulation sensor may provide the same information as a linear variable differential transformer or contact probe, but without touching the object to be measured. The sensors work by projecting a beam of light onto the object of interest and calculating the distance from a reference point by determining where the reflected light falls on a detector (see Figure 1). As the point of light falling on the object moves closer to or farther from the reference point, the spot position on the detector changes. Sensor Types Triangulation sensors are either diffuse or specular. The need for two types of sensors arises from differing reflectance characteristics of materials

Range Sensor 22 . Range Sensors
Range sensors are devices that capture the threedimensional (3-D) structure of the world from the viewpoint of the sensor, usually measuring the depth to the nearest surfaces. These measurements could be at a single point, across a scanning plane, or a full image with depth measurements at every point. The benefits of this range data is that a robot can be reasonably certain where the real worl...
متن کاملTriangulation Sensors
Non-contact sensing is very desirable in many measurement situations. Non-contact sensors are free of probe wear or bounce, collect data at much higher rates than contact devices and do not influence the object being measured. Compared to capacitive and inductive devices, laser triangulation sensors have much larger standoff (distance from the sensor to the part). Compared to ultrasonic sensors...
متن کاملTriangulated Irregular Network Model from Mass Points
Digital Terrain Modeling, the Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) is a representation of a surface derived from irregularly spaced sample points and break line features. Paper deals with the basic concept of Delauney’s triangulation method with its practical approach in ArcGIS. The next section describes the process to convert mass points to TIN model and explores some of the basics of TIN Mod...
متن کاملCreating Morph Targets with an Active Triangulation Scanner
Creating morph targets in 3D environment is not the easiest task. The general procedure is to create the initial object and creating clones of it via operations not modifiing vertex number and vertex structure. Because of this process it is very difficult to create basically different morph targets that keep these necessary conditions. The 3D active triangulation scanner developped at our Depar...
متن کاملThe Study of Triangulation Forms and Their Relationship with Parenting Styles among Families in Yazd
Introduction: The family provides the first seed of human development and personality development. The child learns ethical principles and social relationships with others in the family. So it is important to know what relationships are in the parents’ family and how they raise their children. The main purpose of this study was to investigate triangulation forms and their relationship with pare...
